Mos Wanted Crew - WOD NY 2013
Ian Eastwood --- Don't You Worry Child
Wow, I don’t even know where to start…it’s 1:42a.m. and I will be dropping what you’re watching in just a few hours…I just now saw the absolute final cut to this video and I am completely in shock with a big smile on my face…Not because I think I’m some amazing choreographer, but because I finally figured out how to explain this piece to the world from what I feel about it in my heart.
This piece is about creating your own destiny…so many things have happened to me in my life despite what other people have told me…and I’m living proof, sitting here telling you that if YOU believe in yourself & severely pursue your passion the way YOU see fit, you will fulfill your destiny the way you are supposed to…all my life I dreamed of doing exactly what I did in this video and that is MAKING MY VISION COME TO LIFE…it may sound like a very simple thing but you would be surprised that no matter how successful anyone may see me or someone else as, there will always be a ton of people that will be there to disagree with my decisions or my vision…sometimes even if I’ve been hired to offer that. But this video was a big turning point for me when I realized that you don’t have to deal with people disagreeing with your vision when you create your own independently…and the reason I’m so happy watching this is because I did that with flying colors in this video with so many people behind me to back me up and believe in my artistic vision.
The reason the intro shows me inviting my “extras” for this video on twitter is because thats exactly how this video truly happened—-I bought the glowsticks, the flooring, the shirts, rehearsed my dancers, & planned out everything imaginable for this video on my own & everyone there believed in me because of my confidence in my vision…so hopefully that can inspire the entrepreneur in YOU!
Enough Said - Ian Eastwood
“I wanted to have a really strong message. And I want this message to go out to all the aspiring choreographers and artists who face conflict with people who try to degrade your art - and my advice to you is really cheesy but also really true—- by saying nothing and continuing to progress wins you the battle, the war, and anything else that may come along - so when something irritated me recently I said nothing and went straight to creating this. So…thank you for the inspiration.
I choreographed to this song because even though I was irritated —-it was just irritation and nothing more—- and I feel like what Drake is doing in this song is just venting to Aaliyah. Even though what Drake is saying is very aggressive the flow of her voice and the beat is calming and soothing-almost as an ear to listen to drakes troubles. The ending where I let the beat ride and I just listen-is me listening to Aaliyah (or anyone in my life) that is there to calm me down and let me know they are there for me and will be there to guide me through my irritation.
thank you guys for watching and reading if you read all that-lol- and I hope you enjoyed the video as much as I did creating it and sharing it with you all—-i pour my heart into everything i release and i hope you all know how much your support truly means to me.
This video takes place at my dad’s work—-he now works the late shift in downtown Chicago as a trader—-my favorite days as a kid were always going to work with DAD :)—-so i took some inspiration from real life when I went with my dad to work on my last visit and as I was reading through some social media hate-It inspired me to choreograph in the abundant amount of space there is in the office as it was probably 12am—- and that real life experience inspired me to use that concept in this video.”
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
